Cancer Awareness

Cancer is a well known disease now days. It is a second leading cause of death  globally, and is responsible for an estimated 9.6 million deaths in 2018. Globally, about 1 in 6 deaths is due to cancer.Approximately 70% of deaths form cancer occur in low- and middle- income countries. It is the disease which effects a patient in 3 ways which are mentally, socially and financially.

It is a group of disease involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss, and a change in bowel movements. While these symptoms may indicate cancer, they can also have other causes. Over 100 types of cancers affect humans.

Once a patient is diagnosed with cancer, It attacks the patient mentally first, patient starts thinking that now he has cancer and he can not be cured which depresses the patient and decreases the patient’s recovery chances at the next step it attacks patient socially when he or she shares it with anyone else the community starts spreading the fake rumors which again hits the patient mentally and at the last step it attacks patient financially, as we all know the best required treatment of cancer is expensive too and long duration of treatment cause patient’s financial instability which finally decreases the patient’s will to recover or live more.

To stop this, we should know the first and the most important thing that “ CANCER IS CURABLE DISEASE AND IT CAN BE CONTROLLED AT ANY STAGE”. Instead of listening rumors about this disease one may consult an oncologist who knows everything better. We should also know that there are various ngo’s working to help patients with financial support. If someone is diagnose with cancer he or she must stay strong and never loose hope of recovery.

On this “WORLD CANCER DAY” lets take a pledge that we will reduce all the risk factors of cancer form our life and will defeat cancer and make the whole world cancer free some day.
